South African Lions

Well, we did not get eaten by any of them. Not even a scratch. They really did consider us just to be part of an uninteresting vehicle. Thank goodness!

Jason and Emily quite close to two male lions...

 

Look at that mane! Notice the open eye of the prone lion as well...he's keeping an eye on us.

 

Sleeeeeepy lion.

 

Sleeeeeepy lioness! (notice lack of mane. In humans usually the ladies have the long hair...)

 

Four male lions walked right past us in the dark on the hunt, on their way to kill a cape buffalo. That is I on the right, quietly containing my excitement.

 

Stretch...

 

Jason and I, not disturbing the lion who was assigned to guard the cape buffalo kill that he and his three buddies accomplished the night before.

And this concludes our Big Cat tour. Leopards and cheetahs and Lions, oh my!
