Help yourself to ostriches

Today I thought a sign by the roadside here in Zurich said (in German): Self-Serve Ostriches. However, I now know that the word for "ostriches" can also mean "bouquets." In this case, it was not bouquets of feathers, but of chyrsanthemums. It's the honor system here, you take your flowers and leave your money. Cool, eh?

Perhaps my mind went straight to ostriches due to seeing one recently in the wild on the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. If it looks a little bedraggled, it's probably because that cape used to be known as the Cape of Storms, and it was true to its name when we visited, prodigiously stormy that day.
