Double-Header Date Day

...as opposed to a Double Date, which is not at all the same thing.

Yesterday my handsome gent asked me if I would go out to dinner with him tonight.

But then today, an unusual opportunity arose, whereby I was in the same building as he, right at lunchtime, without a pressing need to be elsewhere (which I typically have). So we enjoyed lunch together on the spur of the moment (mmmm, great salads, with corn, avocado, beets, sweet potatoes, tiny mozzarella balls, fresh lettuce... and then passionfruit torte for dessert; not to mention the fresh-squeezed blood orange juice, so bright and powerful).

Then the challenge was to be hungry again in time for the previously scheduled meet-up at an Indian restaurant in Zürich: King's Kurry on Freyastrasse (completely non-smoking!). I made sure I didn't put anything in my mouth between lunch and dinner, which involved some lovely samosas, sweet fruited naan, Vegetable Korma for me, Chicken Biryani for David, and Roti bread. And, of course, a Mango Lassi. Delicious.

What a luxurious day with my dear one! The rest of the day involved an 11th Grade parent coffee with a lot of people I'd never met (from Nigeria, Norway, Sweden, England, France, Netherlands, etc.), a German lesson, picking up Jason early and spending some time with him, picking up Emily and taking her to get her hair cut (me, too - I lost 10 inches, but it's still long), and watching the kids make an enormous snow sculpture about as tall as David, with the melting snow in the back yard - it's super for packing when it's melting!

We rarely eat out, so today was doubly unusual and special. Thanks, David!
