Pumpkin Bread and Chiquetaba

This evening I baked Pumpkin Pecan Bread with one half of the can of pumpkin, and cookies with the other half (some plain and some chocolate chip). Emily transfered the cookies onto the cooling racks when they were done. Then we made Baked Cod Provençal (with tomatoes & garlic chopped by David, bread crumbs, olive oil, basil, and parmesan grated by David), and oven risotto with shallots and garlic (except I didn't use the oven) and nüsslisalat (lamb's lettuce) with honey-mustard dressing (made from scratch by Jason). It was all mercifully good (first time making the dinner recipes, although I've been making the favorite pumpkin stuff for over 15 years), and I love the teamwork, so everyone has a feeling of ownership about the meal.

This marks the 13th and 14th recipes of my friend Laura that I have tried out since late December. Wow, what an influence on our daily life she has had. Thank you, thank you!

Last night, we watched the first four dozen minutes of La Guerre des étoiles (Star Wars, Episode IV "A New Hope" - IN FRENCH). Ha. Very funny. Especially all the renaming that takes place:

C3PO turns into Z-6PO

R2D2 is called D2-R2

Darth Vader = Dark Vador

Han Solo - Yan Solo

Chewbacca --> Chiquetaba (Chico for short!)

Time to lie down now. Hopefully Chiquetaba doesn't come around in the night and eat our pumpkin bread. We're saving it for breakfast.
