"I don't know what God is doing."

That is what one of my friends said on the phone today, in summing up her heat not working while it's well below freezing, and resulting in her needing to reschedule the day, which had some well-anticipated, special things going on. I liked her attitude - she conveyed in this short statement:
1. Acknowledgment that God is in control (and that she's not)
2. That He has some sort of plan (although she doesn't know what it is)
3. That her life is not a series of random happenings, but rather is heading somewhere (though she knows not exactly where at this point in time)

Sometimes I have a glimmer of something God is doing in my life -
like teaching me a hard skill I had no intention of learning (leadership, pioneering)
stretching me to broaden my self-perceived limits (I could never do THAT; Oh no?)
blessing me (Thank You, Lord!)
carrying me through trials (Oh help, help, help; I'm clinging to You, my Lifeline).

Other times, I have absolutely no idea (What am I doing in England, Lord?).

But He knows what He's doing. He has my good in mind, with a long-term view. That's enough.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.
He has also set eternity in the hearts of men;
yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
