Copenhagen, Denmark

We stopped over very briefly in Denmark before hopping on our Baltic cruise ship with David's wonderful mom and stepdad. The city visit consisted of all afternoon and evening in Tivoli Gardens, this neat amusement park right in the centre of the city (the whole treed area in the photo)! My favorite ride was the one you see below at the top right, a round swing way way up high in the sky. Fantastic views and a feeling of not quite being safe, whirling around up there. The weather was clearer by the time we rode it, which was nice.

The one other thing we had time for before boarding the next morning was a quick sprint out to see THE Little Mermaid in Copenhagen harbor - David and I took the Danish subway/train three stops down and walked through a water fowl sanctuary to get there:
